Some Words to Trust and Obey
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He a bides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey.
Trusting and Obeying God
Trusting (having faith in) God is one of the hallmarks of a true Christian. The wisest human who ever lived, King Solomon, admonishes us to TRUST in God and his wisdom and to not base our judgments on what we may think is right (Proverbs 3:5 - 7). Although believers cannot earn salvation through obedience to God, their faith is made perfect through good works and obeying what is said in God's word. No less than the apostle Paul himself stated that God's law (including the ten commandments) was not only holy, but also righteous and even good for a believer to follow.
12. Therefore, the law is indeed holy, and the commandment holy and righteous and good (Romans 7:12, HBFV)
The Bible also teaches that obedience to God is NOT a burden but brings freedom. Those who boast that they know God, yet do not obey him, are referred to as LIARS!
25. But the one who has looked into the perfect law of freedom, and has continued in it, this one himself has not become a forgetful hearer, but is a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his actions. (James 1)
"The one who says, 'I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1John 2:4)
