What is the JIREH Abraham referred to right after he
was going to SACRIFICE his only son Issac?

Q. What is the JIREH referred to by Abraham as he was going to SACRIFICE his only son Issac?

A. Abraham obeyed God in offering his son as a sacrifice. Just as he was about to slit Isaac's throat an angel called from heaven:

"And he (the angel of the Lord from heaven) said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son] from me.

"And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind [him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said [to] this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen." (Genesis 22:12-15, KJV)

This is the only reference to jireh in the King James Version Bible. Dr James Strong identifies Jehovah-jireh as meaning 'Jehovah will see (to it).' Jireh, therefore, means "will see (to it)," Some translators say jireh means "will provide," as God provided a ram in place of Isaac.

Jehovah-jireh is a symbolic name for Mount Moriah, traditional site of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
