The alternate name for Araunah is Ornan (Strong's #H771 which means, "light was perpetuated," 1Chronicles 21, 2Chronicles 3:1). A Jebusite living in Jerusalem, he sold King David his threshing floor for the altar he wanted to build. The land David bought would later have the temple built upon it by his son Solomon.
