Barnabas
Son of rest, son of consolation
Strong's #G921

Barnabas was one of the early leaders of the New Testament church. Paul's transition from feared persecutor of Christians to ultimately becoming Christianity's greatest evangelist was made easier by Barnabas' friendship.

Barnabas, who was also an apostle, accompanied the Apostle Paul during his first missionary journey from 44 to 46 A.D. Although an argument separated the two men before the second evangelistic journey they later reconciled.
