Bethshemesh

Strong's #H1053
There are several Biblical cities named Bethshemesh. One of them existed within Judah, with others found within the territories of Naphtali and Issachar.
During the reign of King Ahaz (735 - 715 B.C.), Judah's Bethshemesh was captured by the Philistines when they invaded the kingdom. The Philistines then repopulate the city with their own people. The Bible also mentions a Bethshemesh located in Egypt.
