Og, king of Bashan, was a Biblical giant. He was known to have slept in a bed that was 9 cubits long (roughly 13 1/2 feet or 4.1 meters)!
In one of Moses' last battles before he dies, he leads the Israelites to victory over Og and his kingdom. The land that was conquered, located east of the Jordan River, becomes part of Manasseh's inheritance in the Promised Land.
Og, at just two letters, is one of the shortest personal names in the entire Bible. Others include Er (Genesis 38:3) and Ir (1Chronicles 7:12).
