Amphipolis

Amphipolis, near the Aegean Sea in the Roman province of Macedonia, is located between Thessalonica and Philippi. The river Strymon flowed on three of the city's sides.

The Apostle Paul passed through Amphipolis during his second missionary journey as he travelled west toward Apollonia and Thessalonica.
