Bible Meaning: Calf like
Strong's Concordance #G2482

Italy, by name, is referenced five times in the KJV New Testament. These occurrences are found in the books of Acts and Hebrews.

The Bible uses the name Italy as a reference to the entire boot-shaped Mediterranean peninsula on which the Roman Empire's capital is located.

Home Fellowships

The New Testament delineates several Christian home fellowships that met each Sabbath in Italy to eat and worship God. There was a house church operated by Priscilla and Aquila (Romans 16:3 - 5) and additional ones maintained by Aristobulus, Narcissus, Asyncritus and Philogus (Romans 16:10 - 15).

For a period of two years, during his first imprisonment in Rome, Paul preached the gospel and had Sabbath services from a rented home while under house arrest (Acts 28:16, 23, 30 - 31).

There was also at least one fellowship in Puteoli, the Christians of which met with Paul for one week after he landed in Italy (Acts 28:13 - 14).

Apostle Paul

The Apostle Paul wrote the Biblical books of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon and 2Timothy from Italy.

Additionally, the book of Hebrews, who many attribute to Paul, was likely written at the end of his fourth missionary journey when the apostle was in the country (Hebrews 13:24 - 25). In early 61 A.D., he arrived in the capital city of Rome to await his case heard by Caesar (Acts 28:16 - 30).

And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us . . .

And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy: and he put us therein.

Hebrews 13:22 - 25
And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
